Software or hardware?

Hey all, read some info and ended up takin the Ethernet card out along w/ the MIDI card;
Turn the d8b on---Fader control for about 5sec!! After that 5 sec or so, the fader shake started until
I banked the faders, hmmmm. I also had transport control in protools 10 but neither at the same time.
I'm trying to eliminate all of the things that need to be replaced--- what do you think?
