No fader, No poti movement

Hi,

I had a broken power supply for my d8b, but I changed it and it boots.
But now the fader don't work, the potis don't work (no idication of movement)
and it doesn't seem like the signal level leds don't work either.

It boots normally, the normal LEDs on the board work, I can swith between all the modes (Mic, Tape,...)
I can see the changes on the computer screen.

The fuses are all good.
What else could it be?

Ribbon cables inside the console? I'd check the integrity (loose fitting, etc) there first to rule out intermittent and/or open connections...

Just post back with the results so the community can help you out in the event you're still having issues...

Was it the AT (PC) power supply that you replaced? If it was did you connect the "Molex" (4-way) connector from the AT supply to the Analog PSU. That connection supplies 12v to the console - used, among other things, by the fader motors. HTH.

Do you mean that the power supply for the Computer in the CPU Unit
does not just bring power to the the mainboard, also to the Faders?

Cause I saw that the original Power supply feeds the mainboard and then the normal AC Voltage (110V)
goes to the rest of the power supply.
I didn't see anything else from the computer power supply going to the mixer.

Yes the PC power supply provides power to the console as well as the CPU. Have you replaced the AT power supply with the same SPARKLE supply as the original? If you have, there should be a cable that goes to the motherboard, a cable that provides power to the hard drive, floppy drive and the CPU fan and a third cable with a 4-pin plug (in a PC it would normally connect to a hard drive) that connects to the analog power supply (that's the supply that is connected to a transformer). On the PCB you should be able to see the 4-way male socket to which it connects. If you're replacing the PSU with other than the SPARKLE make, there should still be sufficient cables/connectors to do the job. Hope this makes sense.

No, it is a normal Computer Power Supply, not the original.
But I have a 4 way harddrive cable left of course.
But I think those are 5V, not 12 Volt.

I connected the 4 Pin Harddrive 12 Volt cable from the new (not original) power supply to the J200 Socket
But still nothing. The same. No Audio IN, No Fader movement, Potis don't react to turning the knob.

Sad !!!

What is the history of the mixer. Did you buy it recently or have you owned it for some time? To your knowledge, apart from the CPU power supply, was it working. I think you'll have to work your way through the website Database for guidance and, in particular the Maintenance part. There's a section called Service Manual and in it there's a CPU Assembly pdf in which you could check all the Power Supply connections. Doktor1360's suggestion to check the many ribbon cables in the console is well worth doing - the Database has a section devoted to this. Best of luck.

BTW, to clarify, the normal 4-way cable/connection from a PC power supply carries both 5 and 12 volts.
