Hi Carlo,
Just a progress report for you. Last night I succeeded (I think) in cloning a new 32 GB SSD drive from the Maxtor 20 GB HDD in the Mackie CPU/PSU. I did this with both the source HDD and the new destination SSD temporarily attached to a Win7 host externally using inexpensive USB2-PATA drive adapters. The clone was done using Acronis True Image 2014 software but I believe there are free/trial applications out there that will do the same thing (e.g., Macrium Reflect 5.2). The resulting file system is FAT32 just like the source HDD and the file counts, sizes and directory structure are identical. From the Win7 host I can traverse the SSD Mackie OS file system with Windows Explorer and see all the files. I have not yet succeeded in booting the d8b CPU from the new SSD but I hope to conquer that this weekend. I'm capturing all of my steps in a process document for posterity. I'll let you know how booting from the SSD works out. Best regards.
