maybe we can write to Mackie as a whole community? How can we do it? Can we do something electronically as a petition?

Its a pity to leave it dying....many friends of min were interested to buy the d8b now since its a discontinued machine and the price went down to an affordable range however they were pushed off since the V5.1 is no longer available.

Well i tried to convince them that the V3 is similar but....

I spoke to Mackie today. Again they said the authorization code purchase is coming off the site. This is the second time they told me this in weeks. I appealed and the tech agrees with us that we should petition Mackie for some help here and that they do own the code. He told me not to hold my breath for a fix and that their resources are being focused on other products. Maybe they are going to abandon this project. We should petition them to release the code or help us in some way. The tech said the only way to do this is to send an email to tech support, petitioning Mackie. They would forward the email to the right people. I think someone in this forum should write the initial petition on our behalf. Someone who understands how things are done as far as Mackie encrypted coding is implemented. Then once that email is written, sent to Mackie, posted to this forum , then we all email Mackie supporting what was written. This way we sound intelligent in numbers. The answer or lack of an answer would be important to Mackie's reputation.

Step #1 - Signatory individuals who would like to be involved. A list needs to be built of the people who are going to participate in any petition and/or community action endeavor...

More later, but we've got to get our Ducks in Order, a pragmatic approach would be best implemented; we've got some time, we should do this right and as 'professionally' as humanly possible. It's how the Mothership (Mackie) will ultimately perceive this endeavor going forward - we need to be an organized & united front...

As always, any/all input is VERY welcome...

Step#1 The List:

1) Recording Drummer

Everybody who wants in, write their signature names now, do so please:)

I guess we put in our real names when we send the actual emails.

Perhaps a status as well, 'Registered' users w/ the Mothership will carry some weight with the company (ie financial due to OS5.1 purchase), but anyone that owns a D8B is entitled to be just as pissed off about this as the rest of us. At any rate:

1) Recording Drummer
2) Doktor1360 - [Registered Owner OS v5.1 {faulty Auth Code from Mackie}]
