Do you have the DATA cable connected from the CPU to the Console? Not just the power cable.
Does the display on the console say anything(an error code perhaps)?

You didn't really give much to go on.

What does the Display of the d8b say?
Are the I/O cards and the FX cards being recognized while booting?

I have had some trouble with the power supply....After cleaning the ribbon cables because of loss of audio, the power connectors from the power supply to the different d8b cards (brain card, DSP card, efx backplane) became a bit lose I think. So while booting the d8b display said "empty" at all points...(Tape IO, FX.....) and after booting the faders didn't work anymore.

So maybe it could be some problem with the power supply or its connectors.

If you want some further info on this send me a PM....I'm from Germany too.

Btw Is there some way to fix this "power supply molex type plug problem"? I already thought about soldering the lines directly to the connector pins :-P

Cheers
Tom

While I lived in Germany for 4 years, I think I would hit up some of the guys still there to help you out.

Some things I would verify are that you have a clock card installed in the console. If you have a flashing "?" "*" in the right hand corner of the vacuum display on the console, you have a clocking issue.

The flashing green LED on the play button means that you don't have MMC established. I am not sure what you are recording too but make sure you have your midi cables and settings are right to get MMC working.

Getting the bottom off the console is not difficult and it may be worth looking in there to see if a riboin cable or two have become dislodged. This may explaing your lack of fader and v-pot control.
