I think you should contact Mackie again prior to do this, to avoid registration problems. Evidently, if you have purchased the 5.1 and the plugins you want to activate, the previous owner can't have this software registered, so I think you'll be treated as a "new user" anyway, and you should be able to create an account and register your software.

But I must insist, the best option: contact Mackie with your ESN, and tell them what you'll want to do. They should guide you with the right procedure .

Oops, I've forgot that part of your post ! My first email received no answer too, but I re-send my message and finally they responded to my inquiries. I've used this two support emails: techmail@mackie.com / techmail@loudtechinc.com. Hope this helps.

In speaking with Mackie Tech Support, the database they use to maintain serial numbers, unlock codes, key codes and so on for the D8B is crashed. They haven't decided whether or not they're going to ' fix ' it or not. Hence... this leads me to my next query...

I have had offered to me a d8b at what I consider to be a reasonable price. However... there IS no serial/key code information available. It is the original motherboard.

So... If I buy it, would you all agree that I'm taking a big chance since there will likely never be a way to recover any installed codes and so on?! I haven't seen anyone come up with a work-around for this.
