You don't need to install SP 2 or OS 3.

Well, I've checked the sequencially install option, and this isn't the solution. But I think I've got it :mrgreen: .

After waiting a bunch of days for a dead code, I decided to dive into my old HD to see if I was smart enough to find where the original serial number lies. I found one possible candidate, I've used it with the authorization dialog box, and when I powered up my mixer again... BINGO, the dialog box is gone!

I'm realy amazed that the code provided by the support team didn't work, but anyway...I have my mixer running again :D .

Kind regards.

When I bought my d8b I contacted mackie to check to see if there were any codes for my board. I received a reply with all sorts of unlock codes including 5.1 so i got really excited. Upon installing 5.1 and entering the code and it not working I checked the email again and saw that they had swapped 2 numbers in the ESN I gave them. Sadly my board was the definition of bare bones when they actually checked the right ESN.

For the best I suppose, didn't have to spend a ton of money on UFX cards!! haha!

Glad you're back up and running.

This was one of my first suspicious items, but all seems to be correct with the ESN I've sent to the support team :? .

Yeah, in fact I decided to make my investments in UAD 2 boards instead ;) .

Thanks Casey! I was really frustrated with this issue, because I was unable to work, and I have to.

Kind regards.

One last thing about this. Finally my.mackie.com site is running again, so today I could access my registration pages. There, I've found the same code that Mackie team sent me, and a link to an "unlock page". In that page, I've had to enter the code provided, and once done, the page form provides the same unlock code that I discovered in my old HD folders :mrgreen: .

Kind regards.

That's good to know. They haven't totally abandoned us. :)

Definitely, they still supporting us. A few hours ago I've received an email with the unlock codes for:

--->D8B v5.1 Operating System

--->Mackie Mono Delay

--->TC FX II

Great news for us all, I think ;) .

Kind regards.

I need to access my registration / authorisation codes for a second hand D8B I purchased a while ago. Exactly who do I email the ESN to, in order to get these codes? I am about to upgrade from OS 3 to OS 5 and need these for the new install. I have not needed to know these before now. I tried emailng "Mackie" about this and got no response. Thanks.

Hi markd56,

To access your registration info, simply go to my.mackie.com and sign in, or create an account just in case you don't have one. Then, you should register your desk (in case the previous owner haven't done). There's an issue in the registration page at this moment that I've reported to Mackie team: the d8b doesn't appears as a registrable product. They've promised to fix this soon. Anyway, as far as I know, you should purchase the 5.1 update prior to get unlock codes, I mean that if you only own the 3.0 version of the OS, I'm afraid Mackie can't provide you with any unlock codes for the 5.1 version.

Kind regards.

Thanks Albridi. I have been to the registration site as per your response and as you say the D8B is not a registration product option at this stage. I am unable to find out if the previous owner had previously registered the mixer, so I will be re-registering as soon as this is available (if this is permitted). I have already purchased an upgrade to 5.1 and have the number for that, but I am guessing that the existing plug-ins etc. will need to be re-activated once the upgrade is done. I also have a purchased a bunch of UFX plug-ins and a couple of UFX cards that I will install once i have the 5.1 upgrade done. I will register them once I can get access to the registration site. I thought that I could send them the USN and have them provide me with the information, but the registration page access should alleviate the need for this. Thanks again.
And in the end.....The love you take.....Is equal to the love.....You make.
