Another question that I got close to solving but would appreciate some input on:-
How do I raise the volume on the vocal track without having to run the automation in real time?

Add volume nodes in Mix Editor or on your track in your DAW.

I find the manual to be pretty straight forward. Are you looking for something specific on operations?
