CMOS Battery

Postby John Taylor » Sun Feb 26, 2012 1:37 pm

HI All,
I've got the old System Error 43 problem again. I bought my D8B back in June 2011 and it wouldn't boot with the same 43 issue. I replaced the battery, reset the cmos settings and all was well with the world. Now this morning only 9 months later I have the same message. This seems a short time for the battery to last.
Any ideas? Or do I just get a new battery.

John

Serial cable (DB25). If the CPU boots fine and you have the mixer surface properly coming up on the CRT, that is...

It may be that the battery had been on the shelf for a while. It's pretty cheap to get a new one and go through your previous routine.

In the scheme of things, there isn't one... just chaos.
