George,

First of all my name is John Dodge. What I am trying to do is this...
When I bought my HDR, I bought a couple of external drives, and when I plugged them into my HDR I noticed that songs were still on them. So I have been trying to play them and hear them through my d8b. I definately think I don't have the cards configured correctly or something like that. I know I have everything hooked up correctly. But in the setup areas in the software I am not sure what to set for them. That's where I think my problem is. There are anagrams which I have no clue what they mean. Is there a list somewhere that explains what they mean?

Well that's what I am trying to do now. I figure once that problem is corrected, my next thing will be to actually record something.

Just downloaded the manual from this site... Weird thing is, it's different than the one I downloaded from the Mackie site. I downloaded both versions of v3.0 and the one from Mackie site has 147 pages, and the one off this site has over 200 pages... Weird...

When I bought my D8b new and not long after they first came out, it came with a hardback folder type manual where the seperate sheets had to be clicked in. Some of the procedures in it and did'nt work. I got in touch with the suppliers and they sent me a different softcover manual which worked. :?

Well that is good to hear. Take note of what all of your settings are, (master, clock settings, etc) so you can get back to there in case something were to happen.
