Did I mention my beard is now 50% grey and I've developed some arthritis in my left hand since this thread started. :?

Why don't you call it Vision , as I'm sure that'll be the next thing to go before this project is completed and working.

Hey guys,

We know that it's taking a long time for the project to be completed but please take note that we started from scratch, without help from no one (including Mackie, which we called several times). To reverse engineer a device and re-purpose it is no easy task. As posted before, we even had to modify Mackie's own firmware for the meters to work OK.

There's the programming/implementing part that's hard too, Windows 7's MIDI layer changed a little since its 32bit days and we're having little difficulties. On top of all of this, there's no official released documention of the Mackie Control Protocol available. So, we have to look at others' code and use the outdated Logic Implantation manual released many years ago.

Considering all of this, I think we've come a quite LONG way in a few months. The project officially started in October 2010.

I know this is all very exciting and you guys can't wait to check it out, but I want to make things right as I'm gonna be a user of this software myself. I don't want the thing to crash in front of a client and look like a dweeb.

My good friend always says: Perfection takes time.

Best,

Marc

Heck, I've had songs that took longer to record. No worries.

Oh, hey, Peter. I like Phoenix better than Resurrection. I didn't see you had suggested that. My only concern with Phoenix is that it might be overused, but it sure does fit. I like the sound of Phoenix Controller.

Michael, sorry but I don't like MFII.

OK, here's my 2 cents as to the name: D8bis (M&F)
French speakers will appreciate. :) You can still add the whole marketing BS of 'thebestofsingleboxsolutionresurrectedfromashesandyouknowyouwantit' after - I'll take no offence! :D

Ha ha ha... I know where you live!!!

MFII is perfect... Phoenix is a dessert town that is nice but without AirCon... it is a mess. I probably will retire there though unless I get a ocean view (the only thing that would deter me). The Truth? I don't care what it is called. and I do not understand the French thing about MFII - I got a D (low grade) in French and the teacher was NUTS!!! So It is not M&F it is MF, MF good - I know that sounds wrong, but what sells??? yes most often wrong sells - Hey I am not the Teacher here just the messenger (and all you know this stuff, come on!!!)

Karl... super funny, thank you for the really good laugh. I know you were joking around. Really funny though.

Phoenix is the bird that rose from the ashes. Dessert is strawberries and cream. Desert evokes a parched palate. Keep up! :)
