I can't find the link to a facebook collection site. I humbly request that you take names of interested people here, on this forum. This is where the customers are. I, for one would be willing to pay several hundred dollars to be rid of the OEM motherboard & be able to update drivers, use any video cards I want, and have improvements in eq ,compressors & gates and be able to route them for any input or output. Maybe even be able to use 3rd party plugins. Please give us an up-date. I am sure that we can make this profitable for you.

Have a blessed day in Christ,
Mike W.

Audioman, please continue your work on this, as Carlo said, we will support you. I don't care much about the mumbo jumbo going on on these posts about the intricacies of Baud rate, bits, Midi, RS232, etc... Just keep working at making the d8b a better mixer for today's needs, I don't need to know how it works.
I know quite well there are many ways to get around roadblocks when it comes to software and hardware, and people in the know (and with a little imagination) like you can make it happen. Too bad Mackie could not release a major update and rekindle the excitement this board once created, but then again, the "real" money is in selling new products, not software updates.

Hi,

I am interested in the new OS release. I do not have a Facebook account nor do I want one. Please consider the earlier post requesting you get the names of interested people from this site.

Thanks,
Boughman

Again, I can offer you to work together. You are interested in the comands protocol, I'm interested in the audio protocol (the dsp commands, not any audio stream).
I can also imagine to help you on the OS development, if I'm able to program on your used platform.

Sorry to bring up a very old thread - but just wanted to let you know that I have managed to map out at least a big part of the DSP communication. It's available at:
https://github.com/arjepsen/d8b_pi/tree/master/docs
although, be aware, it's somewhat a messy document.... I'm not a professional developer
