I heard that to use the D8B as a DAW controller with ProBox does not require many things. Will the D8B still be a fully functional DAW controller, even if it shows Error 43?
That "
Error 43" almost certainly indicates the CMOS battery on the D8B's motherboard (
inside the CPU rack unit) has gone tits up... it's a very inexpensive fix tho. Any yes, the D8B console will be fully functional as a controller interface - see my reply to your other post. The D8B console only needs voltages from the CPU rack unit to operate, it gets those via the connection of the BFC (
Big F'n Cable) from the rear of the CPU rack to the rear of the desk, the ProBox takes care of interfacing everything else via USB - it sits between the D8B console and the computer you're using for your DAW. It takes the DB25 cables serial connection from the D8B's console and converts it to USB-A on the DAW's computer side of the operation...
You're in good shape for using it as a controller interface as long as the power supply(s) in CPU rack unit are operating correctly...
