Console Power Supply Replacement

Here is an updated Saga on my power supply problems. Last week I originally lost power to the console but the software kept running which pointed me towards the two console power supplies that are within the CPU. First I replace the linear power supply and I thought that fix the problem but after about 15 or 20 minutes running it died again. That pointed me towards the other power supply which is the Aztec lps152 5 volt power supply. I was lucky to find to on eBay buy one seller and I bought them both up. They arrived last night I installed one and it did not work. I then installed the other and my d8b came back to life.
My question is it seems that these are hard to come by so I'm inclined to keep the other one and try to get it fixed along with my original one rather than send it back for a return. So my question is are there any other power supplies to supply 5 volts that will work in the CPU where is it best for me to hold on to what I have and try to get them all fixed. I am not thinking there are a lot of power supplies on the market that will work with the d8b's proprietary set up. Searching the internet I can't even find an Aztec lps152 model.

There are other options.
Like I described in another thread some time ago, I've been trying to get rid of the umbilical annoyance, by simply putting power supplies inside the desk.
This IS possible, but a bit of a daunting task, unless you're really technically inclined. I would say I am, but I still managed to connect the +/- 16V supply the wrong way around, so now I'm still in the process of replacing the pcb's that I managed to fry...
The main thing for these powersupplies is to make sure they provide the right voltage, and that they can supply enough current.

Ouch. Yeah been there. I was building a new studio 2 years ago and working an electrical switch. I thought the line was dead. Dropped one of the TRS cables connected to my Roland VSynth module on it and heard a big spark. Could not figure out where the the noize came from until I turned everything on. Sat there and watch my VSynth melt. So now I know what it's like to shoot 110ac through the audio inputs a synthesizer. Took it to have it fixed but it was beyond repair.

Fantastic idea about the power supply in the desk. I have the same dream but not technically minded to do it. If my father was alive he could have he was an electrical engineer. It's an awesome idea because if you're successful at it and you could take the CPU and Shrink its size down immensely to a simple rack mount about the size of a Muse receptor. Better yet with the advances in technology today I wonder if it's possible to mount the motherboard from the CPU into the desk eliminating the CPU all together and just have a separate power supply.

The external CPU was not the first design choice by Mackie with this console. The original intent was to have it all in the console but as I recall, heat and noise issues forced the power and computer bits to be moved externally. There is someone on here who has done this hack as I recall. I can't remember who, but I think he got it all in there somehow.

I can't imagine getting the pc parts in there - the motherboard is too large with the cooler and eveything.

It all gets me back to whishing I knew a hardcore programmer, that could rewrite the OS to be able to use a simple raspberry pi - that would fit in there easily.
