yes hdr vu's are working

when I hit digital I/o on console, it shows ADAT, is that correct?

You're hitting the wrong button, it's the one above AUX2 right at the top by the display

So your HDR's transport is running, you have VU's showing on it's screen but no VU's showing on the D8b?

Has the HDR been working ok in the past?

yes hdr is fine. Worked on old d8b that quit working 2 days ago...so trying this 5.0 version console I bought awhile back.
It was serviced and sold to me by a church that only used for live sound applications. Not for recording.
I cant get any kind of input to move a vu meter. (mics ect)

The only thing I can suggest at the moment is a ribbon connector clean and re-seat, but try reseating the big connector first.

Could be a clocking issue? Have you got word clock running from the HDR to the D8B (or vice versa)? Sample rates correct?
