Sure of cause - my bad.
I kept thinking that you wanted to make a backup of the files on your pc.
That might actually be a good idea to do - just in case :-)

I just want to use the stick the same as I would a floppy disk, so, I have the emulator fitted into the CPU and I have the stick which has the partitions on it, and I can copy projects from the CPU to it, but if I try to open the files to either view them or load them, I get that error message and the CPU re-boots?

sorry for me being slow

Try re-formatting the usb stick.
If it's the same, try a different stick.
(If you open the stick through the software on the pc, can you see the files?)

Thanks, I understand what's what now.

I loaded the download program to my pc and formatted the stick, just as a trial, I copied projects from the cpu to the stick using three partitions, I can view the projects on the stick via the floppy on the desktop and I can copy the projects back to my HD.

I can see the three partitions on my pc, but there's no project names? If I click to open a partition I get an error message?

Now I am curious what this is all about... but should not take up space and distract from a good remedy on this thread, even though I just now did as such. I am sorry for that. Never mind me I will search to research what it is that you both speak of - this floppy emulator - from what I gather it is a 100 floppy similes on a 16GB stick of USB. Progress... the mixer that goes on and on and on...
Make some noise!!!

I've tried another stick, the files are on it but when I click to open them, it opens "My Documents" on my PC?

No, no error message.

I filled partition 10 to capacity, it shows in the program as 88% full, when I try to open it, My Documents page pops up?

When I open the stick in the d8b it shows all the files and their names as it should.

Hey.
I just tested it out, and you're right, it does the same for me.
Good news is, I think I found a solution.

You have to run the program as administrator.
So:
click the start button, find the program (I just type "usb", and it will be listed),
THEN - right-click the program, and choose to run as administrator.

Try that out, and let me know how it goes.
