problem: I connected the midi cables between the cpu and the HDR but the mixer does not manage the play or stop however the controls to make the HDR work.
I don't understand what to do.
Even my Clock Apogee doesn't want to know how to unlock itself, if "internal" is blocked, if I set the word clock from Lock error. Can someone help me?

Now I'm better and I wanted to put my studio to work, I don't remember many things anymore and I lost the manuals ... that's why I need help in the forum. I think I understand that the MIDI attack is behind the CPU and the HDR. If so, tonight I try and let you know.
Thank you, thank you for your precious help, I would have died without you.

Just an fyi, the manuals are available on the Mackie website if you need them. I was able to track down the dxb manuals so they have all of the legacy stuff there. I think it is under the "discontinued products" toward the bottom of their website page.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure I understand what you mean by this.
Can you describe it more clearly?

Sorry for my english translated by google. I am Italian and I understand English very little.

In reality there are two problems.
1) I connected the Midi, from the CPU to the HDR and from the HDR to the CPU, so as to be able to control with the mixer commands the HDR. Unfortunately it does not work because everything is stopped. Maybe Need to go into the setup to configure HDR and Mixer?

2) The Apogee clock continues to give problems:
If I go into setup and enter "word clock" it gives me: Lock Error.
If I enter "internal" it gives me: Locked.
I don't understand how to unlock the Apogee card.

Maybe you need to configure something in the setup?

Word cock is for when an outboard clock is plugged in, internal is for the clock card, Take it out and clean it before reseating it, also check in the HDR setup > midi > Transport> Generate MTC.
Sample clock > internal.

but do midi cables need a midi interface to work? Or just connect them like this: HDR ----> CPU
CPU ----> HDR?
I noticed that the mixer commands are always locked (Play, stop, record ...) do not work even if I remove all the cards ... can it be? I enclose photo

Just a midi cable from HDR to CPU, and d8b set to internal but the HDR has to send midi time code.

If word clock internal can't be locked then there is either no communication with the clock card or the clock card is faulty, this is why you need to clean the terminals with ISP or something similar and then reseat it

Have you got another clock card, a stock one will do to check if your Apogee is ok, but I think you have other problems because you have no transport.

Go over everything that has been suggested again just to check if you've missed something, if things are still not right then you will probably have to take the back off and do a cable re-seat.

I noticed that when I open the D8B setup under "digital-in" you can't select optical cards (I have three) so I can't select channels.
