Ok, I've found the bugger, it's a rail cap C102, I've checked out the boards in the Data Base but I can't find the schematics for the fader bank boards?

Replaced the burnt cap but the fader bank is dead and they are locked at the bottom of the slide?

Failed caps don't necessarily indicate that they're kaput by looking burnt.

I'd replace all on that board.

Here's hoping that the ICs aren't damaged from when the moment happened.

They're all being replaced, are the IC's replaceable?

Hey Phil;

The Fader Motor Control IC's are replaceable. I have had some done and now need more.

There are 2 different Part numbers. One is for the 8 fader Boards, the other is for the 9 Fader board.

They are surface mount technology so it take practice to do them. Faders have to be removed to get at the chip, which is a pain but can be done. I ordered the IC's from ebay, but I think I'll have someone with steadier hands than mine do the replacement. The IC shouldn't be hard to get (order extra's when you do it).

As you know, getting the faders out is the easy part, the IC's, are they the black square components numbered 45608013J, I've typed that into ebay with no luck?

The faders lock at the bottom of the slide, I would imagine that if an IC went down, only one fader would be effected?

This is the part number listed in the "Service Parts" manual for the d8b.

See if that's it.

Also, the Chip I had replace was U908 (AD8803) which is the motor control chip. I think
