great board forum

Postby Caveman » Thu Jan 10, 2019 12:50 am

havent been here in over 10 years so glad forum is still here.

Dont remember whic os is on my old d8b i dont have it in front of me i sold it years ago.
I failed to tell buyer about d8b sending out 16 bit audio to recorder via adat.

I remember work around was just moving pan control just off center position then could be moved back to center and then 24 bit would be sent on that channel.

Is that the work around? Im trying to help the buyer out hes not online wont be updating os but wants 24bit.
Please, if anyone remembers if that was work around could you please confirm?
Also, was that issue fixed by os updates? Do they make some kind of floppy adapter i can use to download new os and transfer thru usb to flop convertor so maybe i can help buyer update os on d8b.

Thank you, i tried to search forum for info on this nothing came up.

Thanks again

Go to the "ins & outs" section of the database in the link above. The work around you speak of, I have never heard of. Sounds like you may be remembering the aux issue, it's all in the database. ^^^^^^

Thanks for getting back to me i found it on the in/outs.
V3 os sent out 16bit workaround was actually moving level to tape off unity. lol I thought it was the panning, good thing i came here and checked.

There was a patch to correct this but it was my experience that each os and patch created new issues so i stayed with whatever V3 i had.

Long long time since i was here long time since i touched a d8b just trying to help guy that bought my board several years ago.

Thanks again

I would get it up to V5.1 if I were your guy. All of that 16 bit, 1 sample off on stereo bus, etc., was sussed out by then.
