VGA to HDMI converters

Postby captainamerica » Thu Jan 03, 2019 3:20 am

I recently revamp my studio and using a new Samsung HDMI monitor but have had no luck with some of the VGA-HDMI cable converters.

I saw this option in a post but was curious if anyone else was using HDMI TV with converters.?

No luck Dave. I tried it on new LG and Insignia TVs. This the 3rd VGA-HDMI converter I have tried.
Video pixel resolution on the d8b port is 1024x768 so these converters *should* support 640×48 up to 800 x 600 for SVGA.?

Sorry about that. I assume you had the little usb power port plugged in too as it won’t work without it. It’s powering g a 42” Samsung led TV over here.

I thought this was an extra USB port along the the analog port?

That is correct. It's the power source for the unit and as far as I know won't work without it. That's what I remember. I had it plugged into a nearby usb2 hub for power. My board just took a dump so can't turn on right now but prior to last week, it was working perfectly.

To say “thank you” to this is a complete understatement!!! I have tried NO LESS than 10 different VGA to HDMI converters varying in price from $15 all the way up to around $60 with no luck. The left side of my GUI was cutoff to where you could just make out Ch.1 and barely see the “file” menu. THIS $10 item worked without any fuss!!! Literally plugged it in and boom... perfect! Literally spent a few years with my screen cut off and just accepted it. Thank you SO MUCH... seriously!!!
