D8B to sync with Midi Player on PC

Good Day everyone.

I am still new to recording, mostly the technical parts of it and love my D8b.

I am trying to record a Midi song to the D8B on individual tracks. My thought here is. Mute everything but the drums and record on tracks 1 and 2. Next, the bass guitar. 3 and 4....... and so on...

Of course the trick here is to get them all in sync so when they play back they all start and end at the same time.

What protocol and interfaces should I use to sync my D8B, HDR and my PC? SMPTE or some form, MTC?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated, as I am having difficulty finding this specific type of set up and I am excited to get this to work.
