They make a harware version, which I have, and a software animal as well. Here is a review of the SW version that sort of explains it.

Here is a pic of how much, or little, I am boosting typically.

I am also "playing around" with Final Mix but do plan on sending my song to an external Mastering house to compare.
I am not a Mastering eng. but curious to hear the difference.

The Massenburg EQ with Final Mix can be quite powerful on the 2 bus but it won't make up for experience which your mastering engineer will more than likely have. I am no mastering guy but have I been trying over the years to get my final mixes to sound more finished in the last couple of years. It's a never ending journey of gaining experience and throwing fistfuls of cash at gear.

could not agree more...I am also no Mastering eng. but have friend who is...it's a whole other world/art that takes time - and the right equipment $ - to understand! As much as I like technology, I would prefer spending more time composing than computing :)

FYI: Just for comparisons, I am going to use these guys http://www.gatewaymastering.com/and than compare to d8b's Final Mix. I suspect they will be do a much better than what I can produce :)

Detail below

====================================

Hi Philippe,

Good to hear from you. The estimate for mastering one track with Adam Ayan http://www.gatewaymastering.com/adam-ayan/ would be $275. We can usually fit a single in within a couple of days. If you are interested please let me know and I will send an upload link and payment information.

Thanks,
