hi crash and peter, the 9800 is the old board, sorry im talking about the new board ( 3 ram slots not 2)
so here are the dip switches (SW1) for that board...

My question is,on both boards one using the 300 processor and one using the 433 processor, on both my boards the dip switiches are the same, as on sheet for the 300
1= off
2= on
3= off
4= on

but... the sheet also shows the settings for the 433 as...
1= off
2= on
3= on
4= off

so, if my switiches are set for the 300 and i have a 433 processor in will my system only run as a 300 as dictated by the dip switches ?

to make matters more confusing i read that when you put in a 433 the system auto detects it and automaticly sets the right voltage for that processor.
Im just courious really, not that there is anything wrong.
Ah.. iv just thought my HDR has a 433 in it, i can check the dip switches on that.

So all in all it seems no difference in performance in using a 300 or a 433
i have for eg clocked the boot up times for both and they are both the same.
