yes its one of the last options in bios menu. Thats how I always started fixing hardware problems of the machines I didnt know in the past. If you dont know whats wrong, I thought its best to start with default values first. Not good?
Anyway now I found the database website with a lot of pdf's to check.
So the next step will be to compare the bios settings with the ones given in the bios-settings-pdf.
Before this I will go and purchase some 3,5" disks.
Do you think I could go further with the following steps if the bios settings won't work?
- make a MS-DOS bootdisk
- hardware test on harddrive with scandisk
- probably take it out, clone it, and check what files are on it
- format a new harddisc and jumper on 32GB use
- Make 5.1 OS Bootdisks and try to install new OS
I really appreciate your help. Good to know I'm not alone
