Also...

I am not a lawyer so I do not know if any infringement or violation on licencing etc... exists by doing what you propose... I humbly offer you my information that according to the "plan", should have no practical use on anyone elses unit but my own.

Yes it has to be soldered and yes it is a pain. But it works. And don't forget - all effect plugins are bound to this ESN too!

Hi Ken and anyone remotely interested...

If someone has done this already and it worked why don't you use their ESN? The image is already in the EPROM machine anyway. This is basically making a clone right? I thought Mackie had to pay licence fees on the software, so this might be either illegal or a non-issue - these are the things I do not know.

As far as I know the software is still under licence unless it has been released due to the debacle or due to the elapsed time. Does anyone know Mackie's position on this?

And if it were this easy, although a pain, I can not understand why this hasn't been hacked into before... lots of smart people here - it seems this would have been thought of - I am not certain this is going to work. Please let me know if it does indeed work - my curiosity is peaked.

Yes it does work. License issues have been discussed earlier in this thread, especially concerning the plugin codes (i think they can still be obtained officially).

Hi Ken,

You are welcome! I feel as if I did something without due diligence as I am relying on this information I read here that the mothership lost the codes - I am curious how this is possible as I stated earlier. Anyway I read on the thread that someone paid for v5.1 but could not get it open due to the codes not being available - my code works and I paid a good penny for it (the price went lower later) - so shoot me a PM or post it here how it worked out for you - I have a feeling my machine might be being cloned more than a few times over if this works --

Hi Dbl G

I don't want you to feel as though I am taking this from you without paying for it. I would love to have purchased one from Mackie, and I even tried again myself to ask them via tech support just in case they changed their view. If you wish, I will not use the code. There just aren't many options at this point.

Thank you,

I haven't heard back from Maxcz, so nothing to report at this time.
