3. When you desolder, it will leave just about enough left for you to only heat and place the tiny bones of the new chip. It was actually not that hard.

This is a classic way to eventually suffer the consequences of dry joints. You should ideally use some fresh solder on the new IC's pins for peace of mind.

Just sayin'.

well, you are still perfectly right, and in an optimal world, that's what you do. I just don't feel handy enough, nor have neither the skills or the equippement to resolder an 'ants legs'. I seriously have no clue how to, if you shall follow the soldering rules that says that the hot iron and the solder shall never be in contact.

Final statement; If you can, resolder. If you can't, just don't...

Sticky faders 1-16 here, all of them pulling down - replaced the A8083 Chips on both boards (10 eur each) + 10 eur servicing at a local laptop repairing service = 30 eur. After re-calibrating the faders, everything was running smooth, now enjoying the probox (thank you, Ralph!)!
All of these were possible because of this post.Thank you guys!

I think that chip should read AD8803 U908 not A8083? I can't find a supplier for it?

Thanks Bruce, I'll have to check my board to count the pins, I don't know if this is the problem with my board though?

I can't find that chip in the UK.
