d8b runs for good until I turn on automation or final mix

some times after 30secs, some times after 5mins. It hasnt done since I last posted on this topic. Did you resit all the ribbon cables and power cables in your D8B?

No I have not checked the ribbon cables yet have not had time
I am going to try and do that this week end hope this does it

just got around to reseating the ribbon cables
and it has been running for about three hours without any problems
seems like the ribbon cables can cause all kind of problem. the reason
I did not think it was the ribbon cables at first is because I have never heard anyone
say they had this kind of problem that I was having. its just strange how it would
run until I would turn on any plug-in then run for a few minutes then all the lights
would go out. never seen this problem before from the ribbon cables. anyway

so fare its still up and running. without problems. [knock on wood]
boy I am getting to old to have to do this the d8b is heavy and to have to pick it
up and out from my d8b console is starting to be hard work. I remember when I
first got the d8b in 2000 it was easy to take it out. but now its just hard work
14 years does make a difference.

Ya I know what you mean, but this doesnt happen a lot. The last time i had to do this was four years ago.
