Logic acts like HDR with D8B

soo for christmas I got an adat interface where I can get 24 channels of adat in and out ))))) so since I have record arming working and everything else working i got myself a fully compatible system good thing i got the 3 adat cards for the d8b oh and btw does anyone have any ufx cards they are willing to sell?

But in my opinion, you should not invest in UFX cards but in UAD-2 cards for your DAW. That way your plugin settings will be saved within Logic's project file. Also the UAD-2 plugins are far more sophisticated and good sounding.

ya I just needed a ufx card for effects on the band while tracking because you know how vocalists are if they dont have some reverb in there mix and everything... I dont use any plugins on the d8b for recording because even my stock logic plugins kill it let alone my waves plugins hahahaha thx for the advice on the uad cards they look pretty good

I always use the reverb that comes with the original MFX card and nobody has complained to the date.

ya Idk I just saw some nice reverbs and eq with the ufx card considering I have the serial numbers for all the plugins

I think the MFX reverbs are really good, I also have Lexicon and TC but to be quite honest there's not a huge difference IMO.

What I don't understand though with the MFX delays is... if you automate a single word in a vocal line for delay, it is not clean, no matter how tight you get the automation, there's alway a previous sound attached, this does'nt happen with outboard delays.

By the way, I also have Logic hooked up as well as HDR's.

I'm sorry Phil but I can't help you here. I don't use Logic (Nuendo here BTW) and when I use the MFX reverb is only for the talent to feel comfortable in the cans during the recording.

I don't know very much about the d8b automation because all my automation (if any) is done ITB.

The parameter to automate is the aux send feeding the effect, not the effect itself.

No, it won't because the entire track of the signal you wish to effect is sending the signal constantly to the FX, thereby letting you hear previous garbage when you unmute the FX. It seems you're using the FX as an insert on a channel which will never be satisfactory. You need to use an aux send to the FX, automate the aux send on and off on the word or component that you want effected and you'll be sweet,
