Hi

basically I have to say that I have no focus on Audio (I also cannot test it as I do not have a CPU) but I can imagine that it works. I added some new functions in the new Firmware that should allow that you do your Audio Setting with the mackie CPU and your remote with the DAW. But you will Need for that a Special Adapter. The Console has two Serial Connections. One for the DSP/Audio-IN-Outs/Routing and one for the Buttons/Faders/vpots/Controlroom-Audio.
These two Interfaces are sitting on one connector (the 25pol Sub D) So you have to split that and feed the DSP Interface to your CPU and the control Interface to the probox. The probox now can operate with a non hacked Firmware, so it should work with all internal communications in the console (hopefully including cards).
You can also disable the metering comming from the DAW to ensure that your DAW doesn't mix up the meterbridge with the DSP commands.

But that is all theoretical and must be tested. Maybe I fiind some time and a way how somebody on the Forum that owns a probox and a cpu can build up that Special Y-cable to try this stuff.

I will soon sign up for the probox.
If somebody can tell me the cable modification, i will be able to give it a try.
I have two d8b´s fully working in a network and have some good electrical skills.
My studio is pretty large and i have built the hole thing by my self and made some bigger modifications on my Tascam M600 console like remote talkback, diode mods ... and all the fan, hd and so on to my d8b consoles.

If i can be at any help by testing some cable mods when i get my probox.

Just let me know...:)

Hi boss
that sounds good. I try to make a document for the cable the next days.
but tomorrow and sunday I have to work in the studio, so it might take a bit.
best regards
Munk

Hi

Now i have ordered my pro box
And bought boards and switch so I easy can make a db 25 configuration to test what's to work so we can use probox with audio.
So munk please send me the configuration you think will work so I can test it and maybe work out a solution....

Hi

If you connect the probox with a serial switch and run probox at normal speed you can use the audio and then switch over without reboot to use pro box.

I've talked to munk and it is possible that an update will be able with a reset function later on because there is a small issue when you switch from probox back to d8b.
You'll have to move the faders and decoders to get them updated....

Best regards
