Hi

maybe somebody can help me with the Audio part of the d8b. As I mentioned in an old post before, the whole control room stuff including talkback is done on the same Serial Interface as the DAW Controlling. As I do not have
a CPU I Need somebody that sniffs the data that comes from the cpu and goes to the d8b console.

This is the way how it should be done:

1. prepare the d8b to use as digital mixer as it was designed by mackie. (no d8bbridge)
2. prepare the serial connection (the port "Console") for sniffing the protocol.
The serial connection where the d8bridge is talking to the console must be sniffed, not the DSP
serial connection !)

please sniff the following buttons/vpots on the Rx (console). It would be nice to use a program that adds timestamps to the data !. Sniffing the Tx too is nice but not a must have.

Again:I do not need the commands that go out from the console to the CPU but I need the one that come back to the console from CPU.

User Actions while sniffing:

PHONES/CUE MIX 1

I'm able to do that, I'm already using Talkback funtion in my software (because it's the one thing I really needed). I can sniff the things that you need from the 5.1v, but in the next month, as I'm busy as hell right now.

It would be nice if someone implemented full OSC to the d8b, I'm using OSC in my project only for the tempo, timestamp, mastertrack meters and master pan. I was considering that, but for my needs it's too much work.

Cheers

Done very fast... hope you know how to use that info. This is dump from my software in debug mode. First section is timestamp in milis, next you already know, in case if you don't - check out switches.txt.

Paste.bin is under heavy load right now, so here you go:

Hi system32

thanks a lot, that looks really good. I guess everything that I Need is in the protocol.
But I have to filter that first.

Yes, i only bought a d8b console without CPU/powersupply.
I build a fanless supply in the console.
Thats why you do not see the cable.

Hi Ralph,

As you mentioned at your post above, you don’t have the external power supply.
I know you are busy with your project right now but I thought to ask you if it’s possible to open a new thread explaining how you’ve made the internal power supply.

That would be useful for people who want to buy the probox and have the same setup like yours. You could explain it as you’ve made it or with a power supply sold at a computer/other shop, but at least explain the connections which are the most important please (maybe some photos as well if you can).

There was a thread by another member in the past which was rather a presentation of what he has achieved than explaining how he did it to help others.

Many Thanks,

Deanoh

Hi mixingmusic and All others

I think in 6 weeks the build in version for everybody can be sold.
The extern version with case will take about 3 weeks longer.

The testuser will get the system in about 2 weeks.
I have to choose the person.

At the moment the Box can handle the Mackie Pro and the
Logic control protocol.

I am in the testing phase and worked with the probox
Last session in my Studio. Really great!

I also have the Material For 10 boxes at the moment

But i will build for everyone a Box who wants to have One.
