Hello guys.

Yes I can agree that the thread need some fix. But I have been looking around in the administration panel to find out a way to split the thread with no luck. If anyone with some more advanced knowledge than me knows how, please let me know.

I'm sorry but I can only delete posts, not move them around from one thread to another.

I would suggest you (elperroromel) to start a new thread and copy the posts contents over there. Once it's done, I may delete the copied posts from this thread.

Sorry not to be able to be of more help

Peter Holmquist.

@Petersueco,

Hi Peter,

I asked over at the phpBB forum and they had the following to say about it -

It's a moderator permission, not an administrator one.

But yes, there is a quick mod too for 'split topic'.
It asks you to choose the point to split it, or which separate posts you which to split out, and then creates a new topic with those.

I don't know much about it, but maybe it's something you do as 'Moderator' rather than 'Administrator'?

Hi, you are right. There is a moderator mod that allows to split topics. But I couldn't make it work. Everytime I tried, the preview was not beginning from the desired post. So, in order to not mess up the whole thing. I have decided to let it be as it is. Sorry.

I just bought a d8b for a great price after looking around for a while. I am still anticipating version 2.0 as is everyone else. :)

I use Pro Tools 10 so I can't wait to purchase it. however since it has been a year since V. 2.0 development was announced (yes I know Marc is very busy, understandable), I am curious as to its actual possibility anytime soon. I'd love to give him my money. Thankfully V. 5.1 is on the d8b and I can use HUI protocol. I'm curious as to the possibility of Mackie releasing another upgrade for the d8b which might expand the HUI protocol to 24 channels. Or should I not hold my breath? ;)

Also, Correct me if I'm wrong but, if the d8b uses MCU, and Pro Tools 10 supports MCU, Is there something about Pro Tools 10 that won't play nice with the d8bridge?

Not trying to be a jerk at all, just curious. :D

Cheers......

Thruhiker, the D8b is a legacy product from Mackie that is discontinued. There will be no more updates from them.

@thruhiker,

The d8b doesn't use Mackie Control Protocol per se, if that's what you were meaning. The d8b v5.1 has its native layers as well as the HUI layer, no MCP. But Marc's D8Bridge translates the d8b native serial to MCP so if Pro Tools 10 supports MCP then it should integrate with D8Bridge as well as anything else. Your best bet is to confirm with Marc that he has done integration testing with D8Bridge v1.1 and Pro Tools 10 and can confirm interoperability.

Congrats on your new d8b!
