Photos are big so right click on them and "open image in new tab"

Its bit of a Calcutter chop shop job, but does the job great.
if you use your HDR MDR alot and esp in the hot summer months i found my drive getting quite warm,
so, next time you start getting start up problems and have to change the drive you might want to do this while its out,

the motor generates quite a bit of heat and when its trapped in the enclosure with that small air space it can get very warm
iv been told you can mount it upside down so the heat just rises from the top, but thought that might add more strain on the writing pickups inside, ??
so i did this and it now runs cooler with better air flow.

Great Idea! Think I'll modify my HDR's.

Have a blessed day,
Mike

hi mike, hope all is well with you, yea... seems to work great, i use both my hdrs almost everyday , some days and mostly evenings till late, so anything to keep them cooler has to be a good thing, i have also installed these on a switch, so on longer sessions i can just switch it on, the d8b brain box also has one, cheap as chips on ebay...
and you just put the power connector in line with any of molex connectors, and it will work both ways, sucking or blowing, (sucking in or blowing out)
