Hard Drive Conditioning

Postby trs » Tue May 05, 2015 6:38 pm

When conditioning a used hard drive should I perform a full wipe of the drive or is a low level format sufficient?
These used drives have never been used in the hdr but have been used in another system. I am familiar with conditioning drives for the hdr just wondering if a full wipe is recommended prior to low level format on used drives.
Thank You

I have always done a format via the external socket, that always works good.

TRS;

If you do a low level format via DOS or Windows or MAC, you will need to have the drive VERIFIED by the HDR again.

If you do a quick format via the HDR no verification is required. Verification It is not deleted with quick format.

Just a reminder in case you didn't know or or had forgotten.

Cheers
