Hey.
I recently bought a HDR that has the old bios in it.
I read that Mackie offered an upgrade chip, to enable larger disks.
Here is where I start wondering if it really is necessary to get a new chip, or if it is mainly a matter of the "firmware" in the chip - meaning:
Would it be possible to flash the bios, thus upgrading, instead of having to buy another chip??

Sorry for not noticing this question and getting back to you.

It is not possible to Flash the Bios. It is physically a different Chip.

They can be purchased from ebay.
