HDR - SSD Upgrade Problems...

Hi all!

I'm attempting to install a 32gb SSD into my HDR 24/96 and my D8B. I've read all the posts I can find, and now I'm a little stuck and could use some help. I'm assuming one of the parts I bought is incorrect, I just can't figure out which isn't working...

The problems:

HDR: Drive is not recognized, can't get into BIOS, and boot up hangs on 'system error 43'.
D8B: I can get into bios, but drive is not recognized.

The parts I used:

Any help or links to correct parts would be very much appreciated!!

Thanks!

The SSD listed utilizes the SATA III (6.0GBs) interface... No Bueno... if you're going to use an SSD, it MUST use the SATA II (3.0GBs) interface. Get the correct drive, and you should be Golden. Also, the IDE-to-SATA adapter doesn't have the jumpers to FORCE the drive to be recognized as the Master drive. I'd recommend this one :

Once you've obtained and installed the correct hardware, you can then address BIOS, etc without concern regarding disk access. These parts work for both the HDR & d8b; I personally use a 4GB CF card to boot and run my d8b. Hope this was somewhat helpful... :geek:

Thanks for the tips! I finally got the parts...

The D8B upgrade went great!

Stuck on the HDR again... It won't boot. Just hangs at the bios screen (del to enter setup + memory test). Won't get to trying to detect an HD or anything, and pressing del to access bios does nothing. System error 43 is being displayed, but despite all the info online I can't get anything to happen.

The problem is occurring with the new SSD and the original drive.. So I don't think it's the upgrade that's the issue.

Help?

Hmmm... Now it won't even boot to the first screen, my monitor isn't even seeing a signal from the HDR when it's powered on.

:(

Check your video card and RAM sticks.
