Strange, digital "crackling" noise before fade out

Hi everybody

I am a new user of the d8b mixer and I hope you can help.
When recording my digital piano there appears a kind of digitally distorted sound/the sound of the piano "crackles" just when the piano fades out completly. This means it only happens at very low volume, but still very much audible. Wich makes the recordings utter useless... I have tried on a dfferent mixer and no problem there, so it is not the piano.
Any clues as to what can cause these digital artifacts, or whatever it is? And how to get rid o it?

Any help is most apreciated! Thank you.

Bendix

Look for the channel filters in the menu bar and turn them off. Save a template without them on for the next time you start a session.

Hi again - by filters I take it you mean the Equalizers for the channels right? I turned them off but I still get that distortion of the sound just before it fades out... Or did you mean something other than the channels equalizers?

Is this a known problem?

No. <Channel Menu><Channel List> (or ControlB) far right column <Filter>. Turn them all off for every channel. It acts as a gate and was a failure as a concept.

Ok, thank you - great to hear from you Peter!
I thought I could throw the whole thing in the bin...

It's too good to do that. There's some wonderful people here who are always happy to help. One thing, familiarise yourself with the database (link at top of page). Much time has been spent implementing that and it is a most helpful resource. Enjoy. :)

Yes, thank you - I did look for the solution to this problem/topic before posting this new one - but I seemed to be unable to find the answer. I was a bit unsure if it was filled under "crackling sound" , "digital distortion" or "Bloody hell!" ;-)
It is really comforting that these forums are still alive and active. It's a great desk, I think, but these minor details can ruin everything - and the answer is so simple
