Received the following posting on my Facebook site overnight.

We are happy to announce that www.mackie.com is up and running with full access to product information and file downloads like manuals, drivers, etc. Our Find a Dealer and Buy it Now services are also online. We sincerely apologize for any frustrations or inconveniences the recent outage may have caused. You will note that the Mackie forums remain down. We are working now to implement a modern knowledge base solution that will replace the Mackie forums. We will communicate more as new information arises.

Looks like the end of an era as we knew it !!!!!

It's another end-of-era. Forums are a big pain in the butt for manufacturers and I'm not surprised that they want to become essentially read only. It may not be a bad idea, though, considering the kind of products that Mackie is making these days. The legitimate questions asked on the forum tend to repeat, sometimes in cycles, and there's less and less that you can do that you can't fumble through on your own by poking around in the software.

All the more reason for a tip o' the hat to Peter Holmquist for providing this resource. Thank you, Peter.

The person who became the forum manager over at Mackie was clueless, I'm sorry to say.

I can tell you guys now that if it weren't for this forum and the vast experience accumulated through time and efforts of all involved I would have failed to achieve the optimum running status on both my D8Bs.
