Is this the Dreaded rail cap failure.

Postby Flosser » Tue Apr 24, 2012 11:28 am

Hi,

I have just turned on my beloved machine and it is making that knocking sound described on the data base and some of the lights are flashing. Also on the scree the message haS COME UP SAYING "ERROR:DSP CARD NOT READY. LAST KNOWN STATE:RESET.

is this the rail capacitor or is it any of these:
Sometimes clock failures exhibit some of the same symptoms as a blown rail capacitor.
Booting the board while digital inputs or clock inputs are active can also cause some of the same symptoms.
Short power interruptions can also exhibit some of the same symptoms.

Help me Please.

Reseat the BFC and Data cables. And try again. (Crossing fingers)

If the BFC is just hanging off the board try and set it up in a way that relieves the tension. My board used to do this all the time. I think that it's a strain on the connections that eventually come loose causing the problem.
