BOT postings Are Becoming Very Annoying

Postby csp » Sun Mar 16, 2025 3:38 am

These obvious bot postings are becoming more than very annoying and unfortunately Peter is either not viewing the forum any more or hr has lost interest.

I have tried to contact him a few times but have had absolutely zero response.

I know that we has moved (some time ago) and I only trust that he is physically/medically OK --- I think that it was his area that copped the major flooding or something a couple of years ago.

It is also a shame that he did not appoint someone else to be an "assistant/emergency" administrator.

If any of the IT types have any idea how to manage the forum I know that all of the other members would be extremely appreciated.

Just a quick off topic update for those who might have heard --- wife and I survived the Cyclone that struck 10 days ago, but apart from a generator (had two but one failed after 4 days) that is keeping the fridges and a couple of bed side type lights going, we have had no power and for 5 days no water, but this is now on again.

sadly, I think this forum is about at the end of its life.

there are only a handful of us that still pop in and even fewer that still post. It is a great little community with great people but even the hardware itself is stretching beyond its capable life.

glad your safe!!!!

Phil,

Have to unfortunately agree with your first post and the subject of your second post I have been raising for some time, BUT I think that only Peter can organise that.

We finally got our power back on last night after 10 days having to run on a 3KVA generator --- started with two but one failed after about 3 or 4 days !!!!! Our house looked like spaghetti haven with extension cords running everwhere.

Yes, Peter can only arrange that.

Glad things are returning to the norm with you!

Phil,

That all depends on your definition of "normal" !!!!!!!

My wife would say that nothing is normal about me.

Is there some way for those of us who still use the vast knowledge that is in this forum, to get the info prior to it not being accessible?

This maybe too much to do as it is a huge task, but then again, wise people on this forum cracked the software!

Cheers
Bruce

Bruce,

Going back possibly almost a year ago when we received a message about the code system (or something ???) ending, one of the more IT experienced members had a good look at everything and said that only Peter could do anything, BUT possibly someone could possibly look at it again with fresh eyes and discover something.

If I knew who is or how to contact the Forum's hosting company or something, we could possibly contact them and plead our case for them to permit or set up a new Administrator --- I would suggest at least two new persons be appointed.

As a result of a business dealing that I had with Peter a number of years ago, I tried to contact him (phone and email) but got no response. I vaguely recall that somewhere I heard that he was moving house, so that could be the reason that I could not contact him and around that same time there was some super srvere weather event that took place in the general region of Spain where he was located and there were a number of deaths and hundreds suffering severe injuries, so maybe he was a victim of that disaster to some degree that has caused him to not be on the internet since.

Not at all positive, but that is all the information that I have !!!

Too big a job for me technically, also, I’m still working, so not much time, but surely there are members here that could, if possible do the admin side?

Phil,

Agreed, BUT unless very simple my programming type computer knowledge being a limited as it is would possibly write me our of contention.

If only Peter would/could communicate and give us some advice. His complete lack in communicating has me concerned for his safety and/or medical condition as it really does not sound like him not to have looked at the forum (even for interest sake as he set the entire the entire forum up) and at least communicate once !!!!!

I don't even know where or how to start searching for him to check if he is OK.
