Timeline photos of my studio Construction 2021

Postby Steam Radio » Fri Feb 04, 2022 1:20 am

I thought you would like to see the photos of my studio construction during 2021 took about 8 months to complete, from an empty garage with only one power inlet to a full working but compact working creative space.
I've always had a small and incomplete version where we lived before for many years but with the move to a new house about 7 years ago and a double garage this gave me the opportunity to really create a proper working fully operational studio once and for all.

Lots of Acoustic absorbent Rockwool and framing out took forever but it was well worth it in the end, no sound leakage and no angry neighbors.

That's me in the hasmat suit, rockwool can screw your lungs up and it was a pig to install.

Once the framing, electrics, floor and walls where complete it was time to fit out the interior and add sound control to the walls and floor then add the ceiling lights and fit in the Argosy 90 console which I picked up for a nice price of £150 about 7 years ago and has been instorage waiting for 2021 to come around.

So now its all done and I'm now getting it all midi-ed up and wired for sound, all my instruments, rack effects and outboard gear, pedals and guitars are finally out of storage and up and running for the first time in so many years.
apart from the final wiring up going on for the next few weeks (which is a nightmare!!!) its almost done.
But as i'm sure you'll agree with me that it may be done but it's never finished.............there's always that next bit of must have gear.

That is AMAZING! I have my stuff set up in a double-garage, too, and an Argosy 90 Series desk in there... but I just put all that stuff in the room the way it was and hung up some foam, etc. So, I SERIOUSLY envy this super-professional looking clean and tidy studio space you put together. NICE!!!
It's what my place could be... if I wasn't so lazy (...or never feel like prioritizing build-out work, since that gives me zero enjoyment and I have two left thumbs).
Heck of an accomplishment! Congrats, Steam Radio!
