Hi
I have problem with my Mackie d8b
After changing the battery of BIOS I lost my licence key
and mixer start in Demo Mode.
It is important for me to have fully functional computer / mixer.
The version of software 5.1
I need help with that.

This is from the 5.1 crack thread on here. See if this get ya down the road. This is one of many threads on 18 pages of info, so you may want to search "5.1 Crack" to find the thread and see if there is more stuff. I am pretty sure Munk got to a point where all the plugs were unlocked along with 5.1.

1. Install OS5.1
2. overwrite existing control.asc with the new one on your mackie mcu (via FTP, see d8b databse for more informations).
3. use the codes in the txt file.

please note:
You will get a new ESN for your System, so all plugin codes you have used before will not work anymore !
Bitsync figured out that some plugins are not working. Hopefully we will find the reason for that.
check his post to see what is working at the Moment.
Maybe these issues are due to UFX and MFX Cards ?

Hey everyone. I’m new here. I just got an old, but unused (for the most part) Mackie d8b 5.1. Under the licensing tab, I cannot unlock any of the additional plugins. I see someone posted a link showing the codes, but how do I even start the installation? Apparently the Mackie needs to be reset with a different ESN number, I have no idea on how to go about doing this… I looked on YouTube, but finding a “how to” tutorial regarding a 20 year old mixer is unlikely to happen. Please help if you can. Thanks

Download the attachment.

There's a file named "MackieOS.exe" in it. Find the file with the same name on the harddrive in your D8B rack unit, and replace it with the file found in the attachment from that post.

There's various ways to go about this... one of them is to remove the D8B harddrive and connecting it to a PC and replacing the file from there (then installing the drive back into the D8B).

But in principle, the "hack" that gives you all the plug-ins, without having to enter any of the codes, is to replace this file. (The method where you have to enter serial codes, is an older hack... I'd recommend to use the one I'm linking to above, instead).

If you have trouble with replacing the file, post again with a description what you did and where you got stuck (and the exact error message, if there is any). But generally, you just have to find a way to replace that file, and that's that.
