I'd have to open the desk to be sure, but I don't think that it's a single ribbon cable for channels 13-16. The boards inside the console are usually organized in banks of 8.

So, I'd expect that you'd have a ribbon cable for channels 1-8, 9-16, and then 17-24 (and the master fader is part of this third board). So, if it was the ribbon cable, it would be likely that your problems would start from channel 9 and up. Not from channel 13... but it's possible, of course, that only those channels have some sort of bad contact or so. But not all that likely (... unless I'm wrong about ALL of this, and there IS really a ribbon cable responsible for such an odd range of channels).

What do you have connected to the inputs from 13-16? I'm wondering if it has something to do with there only being Mic preamps on channels 1-12, but not from channels 13 and up?

Did these channels work for you before? Did you check your routing settings already, or "hide" the startup session, restart and try with a clean slate?

Thx for the reply and suggestion

It is 2nd hand D8B
I fixed most the problem before she was very bad shape
Clean install OS 5.1 hack already with CF card, Floppy emulator

I did double checked and reconnected all the ribbon cable as possible but still no signal

the Channel 13-16 analog jack input no signal
have been double checked the codec card is good to go
new clean session no help

all Tape in/out channel good

Well, only the sticky fader not yet fix

will the OS affect the analog input hm..........

Hmm... just to make sure the signal that comes into channels 13-16 works:

Did you try connecting the cables that go into 13-16, into different "line" inputs from the last bank (that doesn't have Pre-Amps), so, for example to 17-20? If you do that, does signal arrive on those channels?

If you DO get signals when moving the cables from channels 13-16 to channels 17-20 (or so), then whatever signal comes into the console is good, and you can connect the cables back to how they were.

I'm not at home right now, so I can't check... but there's usually one Session called "Startup" (or similar), that gets loaded when the D8B boots up. If that exists, and you create a new Session, it's usually based on that Startup Session (I think).
But IF that Startup Session had a problem or some odd routing already, the problem will also exist in the new Session you create (that's at least my understanding).

Because of that, I'd browse to the folder where the D8B stores these sessions, and move the Startup session out of it - for example, to the Desktop. Then re-start the D8B.

When doing this, I think it should create a NEW startup session and/or at least start with a completely fresh session that doesn't have any routings changed from default.

If you do this (i.e. "hide" or delete the existing Startup session, so the D8B can't find it when booting up), does it make any difference with signals coming into the D8B on channels 13-17?

Deleting the v5.1 and also v3 Startup (if you have that session) completely wipes them and new factory Startups replace them, worth a try.

Did you restart after deleting the Startup session? If not, it doesn't change anything.

Also, did you try if you get signal on channels 17 and upward? If you tried and you did NOT get signal there either, then it's more likely a problem with the analog signal going into the D8B, than with channels 13-16 (for example, level too low - mic level instead of line level, etc.).

Reinstalled the OS
Reseat the Ribbon cable as possible as I can

still same no analog input on Ch13-16, the rest of the channel is fine
DIO input 25-48 all fine

Well i wonder might be the Line control surface board 121 problem which i didn't disassemble out to check it.
or J36 connection with the Brain Board 136

Analog 101 good
J6 cable connection to 121 all good
