Hello there

i had the d8b (master) sending to a rme babyface pro (slave) and all was working with no issues.

Couple days ago i have noticed that the rme is working in internal clock, i don't remember changing anything.

So i started trying to find what it was or it is the problem, reseated all the cards check all connections and nothing.

i don't know if is the d8b not sending or my rme not been able to take the clock from signal, i use apogee clock and i still have the original one as well tried both and the problem persists but the mixer works normal as a mixer.

All is connected via lightpipe

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration
Angelo Paiva

Have you checked your D8b wordclock settings?

Phil

Have you got anything else that you can couple-up and try just to see if wordclock is transmitted...or borrow something?

i will probably try to get a place or another sound cards from a friend just to try at least to see if rme sync, if it does, i will assume that its the console.
I wil let you know if worked or not.

Just out of curiosity (and a way to see if the clock card is completely dead) did you try it the other way? D8B slave/RME master.

Hi frank & Phil

Unfortunately i can't because have a babyface pro so no other way i connect then via lightpipe .
i tried the stock clock card from mackie and the appogee one as well issue is the same.
Just tested the rme with another card and it locks no problem wich makes me wonder if is the 12v rail capacitors on the brainboard not 100% sure if i have read the on the manual the but it messes the clock !?
And if it is i dont know if is fixable or if is worthy i got a probox as well maybe go 100% controller.
other wise the mixer seems to be working normal audio plays, receive adat signal from interface but does not send back :(

thank yous
Angelo

Try cleaning and re-seating the ribbon connectors, also, on these old connectors, lift the ribbon on the connectors, do this by slipping your thumb nail or something similar along the connector/ribbon join, then clamp down with pliers....you never know...I have had issues like this.
