Motorised Fader testing

Postby Vilasalvas » Tue Apr 10, 2018 10:41 pm

Hi, would anybody happen to know how to build a simple motorised fader test rig for a d8b. The reason I ask is, I am stripping a few dead d8b's and salvaging the parts. I can quite easily remove the faders from the board and replace them, but it would be really nice to know that it is working properly before refitting it. I just need to test its travel and measure is resistance.
Also does anyone know where new replacement faders are available in the US or Europe.
As a matter of interest I must be in possession of the most grubby d8b in existence, I have already removed a fur ball the size of a football. I thought studios were supposed to be a clean environment. Yuk.
