Hello! I have a D8B running 5.1, connected to a Motu 2408 mk3 via 3 optical cards. Back in November, I had a strange thing start happening and it has been going on since then. If I plug in a mic or another source to ch 1 on the first layer, it will route it to the 2nd fader layer ch 25 and it will send it as a stereo signal to ch 29 & 30. It shows up on my Motu on all 3 channels as well. When I listen to it, it sounds processed and out of phase with ch 25. I have checked in SONAR where I have things routed, and nothing is showing on it. I have my studio at my middle school and have some classes that have used it doing morning announcements. I am wondering if they have selected or assigned channel 1 to somewhere accidentally. Where would I need to look to determine if CH 1 is routed or some efx are routed to ch 5&6 (29 &30) on the 2nd fader layer? Is there a way I can reset the channels to default settings where there is no routing? By resetting, would it also reset my aux's and efx on the aux's?

You can go in and throw away your start up file. Upon reboot, the console will create a new one with out any odd assignments that may have been saved. Try that and see what happens.

FYI... I figured it out today! It turns out that the motu cue mix that comes on the pic-e card was the culprit! The audio was being routed to the cue mix, then back out to the adat channels. I was watching a video today and a video about the cuemix came up...I went to the d8b and pic...I opened the cue mix program and there it was routing audio to those channels. I muted them and no more phasey sounding audio!
