cmos check some error...defaults loaded

Postby ken » Sun Feb 11, 2018 8:33 pm

I am selling my D8b and power supply. I reformatted the drive. If I wait about 24 hours and boot up I am getting the cmos check some error...defaults loaded.
I am given the choice to hit f1 or del. If I hit f1 the d8b boots fine. If I boot it continuously for hours straight it boots normally not giving the hit f1 to continue message. If I wait about 24 hours to boot then it does the press f1 to contnue or del to enter set up. So I just push F1. Is this a major problem or should I just replace battery in CMOS batterry. This board was configured to run with 3 Akai Dr16 's fully loaded including work clock etc but all the recorders etc are now almost sold. So I am just booting the D8b with the computer hooked up mouse etc

it does sound like needing a new battery. After installing, make sure the bios is set up right.

arjepsen is correct. That's a dead CR 2032 or DL 2032 battery issue you have there. As suggested, reset the bios after replacing. Go here, to discover which motherboard you have.

Download one of these pdf's for instructions, depending on which motherboard your D8B is equipped with:

http://www.sonido-7.com/d8b/files/d8b_old_mb_bios.pdf

http://www.sonido-7.com/d8b/files/hdr_and_d8B_new_mb_bios.pdf

Do not activate "LOAD OPTIMAL SETTINGS".
