The D8B Collective, New song needs YOU, Anyone interested ??

Hi All, Was just having a chinwag with crash, and both came up with an idea for a bit of fun.
A creating a song with the guys on here who are interested in adding a part to it then the finished results lets have a Mix poll ?
The idea goes something like this.
I can ( if wanted) create a drum and bass file to start it all off in the style of ??? (you know where im going with this if left to me :-) !)
i send the files to crash,
He then downloads them to a dedicated dropbox link for us,
then you can down load then add too the song with what ever you play then send crash your part,
then he will then add your part to the dropbox link,
hay presto we then should end up with enough files to get a song out of it,
once we have all the files we need, we can download them all and anyone that want a go at mixing them can do.
then upload your mix to a soundcloud or dropbox link.
and we can then have a mixing shoot out and try and create some sort of poll where we can vote on each others mix.
so looking at it we would need
a guitar player or two
a key player or two
vocals any amount with backing
brass ?
strings ?
percussion
or anything at all that will add to it

As said i dont mind starting it off by coming up with a drum pattern and a funky bass line for it in some sort of format to get it going, easy enough as it will be just loops, format can be something like
Intro
V1
Ch1
V2
Ch2
Mid 8
solo
V3
Ch3 x2
Outro

So whos up for it ??

always remember that bit of lap steel steve howe did in welcome to the pleasure drome,
infact when frankie got back together to do a trevor horn birthday bash holly said he was not going to do it, so they searched for a singer to do it, and wow, did they find a singer, prob even better that holly, i think he did a fantastic job and the band were just cookin, with steve howe and his lap steel. check this out, well worth it. you can see the audience just gob smacked,

For everyone that wants take part in this, PM me your email so I can create a folder where everyone can drop and grab files on Dropbox as the want/need with the proper permissions. This could shape up to be quite fun and cool if we can get enough people to participate. Looking forward to it.

Let's keep the files 44.1/24bit wave or AIFF so we are on the same page.

My guitar skills are a bit mediocre, but I’d be happy to see if I can come up with sometihng too. Same goes for a bit of vocals, although I’m probably not good at coming up with lyrics from scratch.

fantastic, well done aj, any vocals is good, gotta be better than mine !, another guitar as well, great.
cant wait, prob end up sounding like a one man band falling down stairs, haha but great fun

keys anyone ? just gotta be a key player on here,
Brass ? flute? strings? synth sounds? scratch samples might be interesting ?
real drums ?

Comon ya know ya want too :-)
might be worth getting it going and then people can have an ear and decide if they can add something to it or not ?

"It's all about the Bass, about te Bass, no Treble"!

Just say'n.

Looking forward to hearing something, then figuring out how to get it from "Drop Box"into my HDR, then back to "Drop Box"! My HDR isn't connected to an FTP? Can't get it to work!

Cheers

Another win for the CF solution ;-)
Regarding ftp, you might need to set up your routers dhcp to supply your HDR with a specific ip address - I think that's how I made mine work.

I didn't even think of that side of the equation for others. I am using an old caddie shuttle made by Kingston to sling files off my computer onto my HDR.
