That sounds more like a MIDI communication problem. Perhaps chasing MIDI through your software. Sounds like Pro Tools is sending MIDI messages to MIDI through and it is recognized on other channels. I use Cubase and find that by disabling or filtering the MIDI messages within the software preferences eliminates a lot of problems with other devices.
