Slight Clicking in Channels 1 and 2 while playing synths

Good Morning,

I tried to do a little searching through the board here, and couldn't find what I was looking for. I finally got my rig set up where I can record to an HDR 24/96, but as I was working to record on channels 1 and 2, you can hear a clicking noise. It is ever so slight, but definitely noticeable. No specific pattern, it just seems to happen when you really hit a staccato note on the piano. It isn't clipping, so I know it isn't that. I moved the synths to channels 9 and 10 to see if it was the first set of 8, and it went away. I also tried a different synth to see if it was my KX88, but it did the same thing.

Any one run in to something like this. Is it a try to re-seat the cables, or maybe something that may be specific to the first 8 channels that I shouldn't use for a synth?

I am recording to an HDR 24/96 through OPT-8 cards.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,

Ken

Hey Ken;

Is the d8b and HDR Sync'd (Word Sync) together?

In order for them to "march" together with no "clocks" they must be sync'd. The little "clicks" go away.

You will need a BNC Coaxial cable to go between the HDR and the d8b, You will need to do the setup in the d8b.

In my rig I use the HDR as the Master and the d8b as the slave. I seemed to have less trouble in this setup. You must remember, when shutting down to turn the d8b off first, and when powering up, turn the HDR on first. In this way the d8b doesn't loose Word Clock, which can be VERY noisy.

Let us know.

Cheers
Bruce

Thank you Bruce.

I do have the clock connected between the 2, but I do think the D8B is the Master. I will give it a shot.

Thank you!

Ken

Turn the channel filters off, all of them.
