d8b failing rail caps?

Postby rcie » Wed Feb 08, 2017 6:47 pm

Hi all,
I have a problem with turning on my D8B, when I turn on CPU there are LEDs flashing all over the console. You can see YT video. https://youtu.be/FMkYU5cswC0

If it starts then it's perfectly fine. Well, almost, from time to time one fader goes nuts. I use it only with ProBox, so don't know if there are any other problems with normal operations. I reviewed articles about rail capacitors in D8BDatabase, but I have not the same symptoms.

Do you think this malfunction may be caused by failing rail caps? Or if anyone encountered such problem then please let me know.

Thanks,
Robert

Hi,
I would check the big round power cable. Unscrew it, clean it with contact cleaner and reseat it making sure that its weight is supported by something and that there is no strain on it. Just a suggestion.

Have a blessed day in Christ,

What Mike said. Mine has done this every now and again. Start with what Mike said, though failing rail caps look quite similar.

Thanks for info, after reseat power cord it's ok now! :) I don't use it daily, but I couldn't turn it on for about two weeks. Hope that was the main problem.

Thanks,
Robert
